The Social Media and Language Learning Portal gathers research, materials, lesson plans, and experiences of social media and web 2.0 in the foreign language classroom into one location. Beta testing is currently underway. The launch date is set for Spring 2012.

What is the SmaLL Portal?
The Social Media and Language Learning Portal (SMaLL) is a free and open resource designed primarily for faculty and students of world language education to share resources, lesson plans, activities, and software for effective world language instruction.

Is the SmaLL portal a resource for me?

The SMaLL portal is primarily for faculty, teachers, instructors, students of world language education of all languages and levels, but the resource is open to any interested individual or organization.

How do I create a new user account?
On the SMaLL homepage select ‘Register’ under the user log in section.
Create a user name and complete the registration form
When finished select ‘create a new account’
A registration confirmation email will be sent to the email account
A second email will be sent confirming your account has been activated.  (This may take up to 24 hours. )

Can I view resources without having an account?
Yes, any one can view resource pages without an account, but you must have a user account to view profile pages, create resources, and add comments, activities, or lesson plans  to a resource page.

How do I add a resource?
Log in to your account
Select the “add a new resource” button to the right
Complete the form: Language, title, category, author, etc.
Upload a screenshot of the resource (Not sure how to capture a screen shot? Click here for more information)
When complete press save
